Cyber Security Analyst, Glasgow, Home Working, Greenfield, £45k plus benefits
NDK InfoSec are working closely with one of the UKs leading utility tech companies to recruit a Cyber Security Analyst. This is a brand new role and will be tasked with owning the technical aspects of Cyber Security across the organisation. You’ll be working with cyber security leadership as well as GRC professionals and have ownership on all technical cyber security: technical cyber security advice and guidance, new cyber security technology implementations, incident management processes, incident response, work closely with the MSSP etc.
In the Cyber Security Analyst role you’ll be responsible providing technical expertise but also have the opportunity to help define the cyber security technology roadmap. This role would suit someone currently working in a SOC (Security Operations Centre) environment, or in a less formalised structure but still with exposure to: IDS, Incident Response, SIEM, firewalls, DLP etc.
Key skills required:
  • Technical cyber security background will be necessary for this role.
  • Experience working in an SOC/ incident response capacity will be preferable (either managed service incident response or internal incident response will be acceptable).
  • Experience implementing security technology from greenfield would be preferable.
  • Experienced managing an MSSP would be preferable.
  • Experienced creating incident management processes would be preferable.
  • Experience with cyber security tools and technologies including: firewalls, IDS (Intrusion Detection Systems) and Security Incident and Event Management (SIEM), Anti-Malware, vulnerability scanning etc.
  • Experience in programming or scripting would be preferable.
What you’ll be doing:
  • The “go-to” for technical cyber security advice and guidance.
  • Implementing and owning new cyber security technology across the organisation.
  • Taking ownership of new technology requirements including a large firewall upgrade and email security system implementation.
  • Ownership of the IDS (Intrusion Detection Systems) and Security Incident and Event Management (SIEM) technologies.
  • Implementing incident management processes alongside the outsourced SOC.
  • Ownership of wider security technologies including: Anti-Malware, tools, logs, etc.
